CORP Holiday Party 2010
Holiday party season was an awesome blur... This party was by far the craziest... 3 hours of open bar...Corpies get it in. I was a little scared for the safety of my gear... but still the christmas spirt was there in full force, and it was enhanced by all the other spirits that were flowing heavily. Funniest thing about this event was the Dance floor and how people were just eating it all night on the slippery dance floor all night...kinda scary, kinda hilarious... All in all amazing energy, Good times, and a truly unique to Georgetown mix of music that had them rocking all night. Enjoy some Vids taken on my Ipod Nano.

Had the pleasure of working the Sig Ep winter formal again this year, 3rd year in a row, last Thursday 12.9.10 at the Josephine Butler house on Meridian Hill in DC... Awesome venue, Good Times, Great Music & Sweet Bros Partying with their dates in the Holiday spirit... This party was awesome because i could play some of the Delicious House & Dance music I love and dont get to normally play when Im doing holiday parties like this. It was dope!

SOOOOOULLL TRAAAAIIIINNNNN & In Living Color
I'm In Alabama for the week at my dad's house and I'm discovering a network called Centric apparently this is BET's atonement for selling out to Viacom and Becoming "Black EVIL Television" setting black people back to slave times.... A rant for another blog. I like centric, in the past couple hours I've seen a few episodes of In Living Color & some classic episodes of Soul Train. Both amazing shows that were poignant expressions of African American popular culture & music for their respective times. Here are some YouTube videos to show anyone that is not familiar with the shows.
IN LIVING COLOR-
Shawn Wayans, from wayans brother TV show and all the "Scary Movie" Movies was the DJ on this show because his older brother, Keenan Ivory Wayans( My Dad's classmate at Tuskeegee) was the Executive producer of the show. this is also where J-Lo Got her start as one of the "Fly Girls" a group of cuties that danced to new jack swing and early 90s' hip-hop throughout the show and in special segments at the beginning of every episode. don't forget...Jim Carey also got his start on here...
here are some Soul Train videos... Its funny that our parents make fun of us for Soulja boy, Stanky Legg, Flexx, Walkin it out & most recently Teaching each other how to Dougie... but they danced like this... I love old school soul train videos..

It was awesome to be a part of this great event, unique, fresh & new for georgetown, utilizing the great space that is bulldog alley, for some great live music, Hip hop inspired but infused with some rock & reggae & alternative. 3 great acts, a

These dudes are DOPE. A very fresh sound, Think Gym Class Heroes with better vocals & a sick violin on most of the tracks. Its Alternative, Rock, Soul, Hip Hop, Reggae, the lovechild of great genres well mixed together, like a beautiful interracial baby. Im jumping on the bandwagon. They call their sound "Rock & Flow" A brilliant marketing technique & accurate description of their sound.

Next Artist Kokayi Is a DC Native Grammy Nominated Artist. DUDE is also dope. He gave a great live performance. Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B, Alternative, little Punk rock. Very diverse style with great rhythmic delivery & Enunciation. On a personal note, I love it when rappers can Rap Fast, but ENUNCIATE every word, that takes talent. Kokayi's got it. His album art from his new album Robots & Dinosaurs was dope is filthy, i put the sticker on my turntable coffin

Thursday before Halloween I was a part of an awesome event for Coprodeli USA, a dynamic non-profit that does great things for Peruvian people, primarily they fund lots of schools throughout the country. This was a great night, celebrating the accomplishments and raising money for the organization.
